Penn was interested in developing areas adjacent to its campus through real estate acquisition and expansion. Initially, we identified a number of surrounding buildings and vacant properties that could be of interest to Penn. Then we developed a strategic plan to redevelop the entire area located on both sides of the Schuylkill River. As part of implementing this strategic plan, we provided the City of Philadelphia with assistance in securing a Federal grant that was used to create a park along the river. The American Institute of Architects acknowledged the plan with its Honor Award.
